Dog Days of Summer

I took a walk today from my (soon to be) house to my (soon to be) classroom today to see how far it was.  About .6 miles.  Without a pedometer, but I estimated.  In any case, if I DID have a pedometer, and I also put one on my dog, would she have to wear two of them since she has 4 legs and takes twice as many strides as I do?  Or would I set it to measure every OTHER stride, since she needs all 4 legs to move once to take her somewhere, instead of just 2 legs moving for me?  Experimental video to follow – I don’t know how long it will take me to do this, but I’ll get it here eventually.

Also, in Deep Storm, evidently there is an alien weapons dump at the bottom of the ocean.  Who knows what civilization will run into this area, but to signify “DANGER!” the aliens decided to put x = 1/0.  Math transcends language and culture.  Nobody in their right mind would EVER divide by 0, right?

About Mr. T

Well, I'm interested in math. Teaching it, learning it, describing it, living it. Creating it. Most importantly (to me) is helping others appreciate it as much as I do.
